The screech of clockwork engines waking
In the vomit-stained streets of our home
Through the steam-choked air
Copper birds take flight
If this should all end in fire
Just look up above

Now you see
The pillars collapse, and crumble with rust
If we can find something that's left
From the way we used to be
And learn the way before we all turn to dust

There comes a day
When we don't feel like giving in
When we know something more than sin
We realize we're all that's left
No turning back
Just take a breath
And step outside into the cold
Remember all the hope we hold
All that remains
We have to struggle through the pain

Somewhere better
Over the hills, and just out of reach
And it seems that we will not escape
This fate we've made
And all we've built will wash away to the sea

The world is far too vast for us all
Some days it seems as if that’s the case
Appeals to oneness aren’t so noble and brave
Just let them fester like the wound
We know that deep within
Where kings of vermin reign
Darkness descends
Like automata lacking in reason
Can’t you hear the grinding gears

Earth is quaking, oceans break
They lacerate these shores
Things once tamed, now unrestrained
As chaos is reborn
Hollow memories, silhouettes
Of who and what we are
Past the point of no return
But we will carry the spark

Like unhallowed skies
Corrupted by void
As the entropy beckons
Our augers decay
Their prescience devours us all

We can brace, and vanquish the storm

Run from the id
Fly from your fear
Conquer your hate
Descend, like dead leaves
'Till we rise and reconquer the fall
